About

Photography has been a life long passion for Hai. Starting in Vietnam where he was born his lens was fixated initially on the allure of French Colonial architecture. Soon however it moved onto the landscape of Vietnam and its coastline. Hai found himself seduced by the thick jungle that hugged the coastline and folded over the mountains in a wild caress. He was in awe. The plants, the trees, the birds and animals of the jungle became his obsession and his photographic career drowned in the magnificence of it all.  He also captured the coastline – white sand waving like a sea back and forth skirting aquamarine water lapping lazily.

In 1990 Hai immigrated to Canada and made his home in Vancouver. Soon after arriving Hai found all the inspiration he needed to continue his life long love of nature photography. He has travelled deep into the wilderness of British Columbia, Yukon and Alaska capturing the astonishing jewels in either the landscape or the wildlife.

Travel is intoxicating for Hai and wherever he goes his camera equipment is always with him. Be it the Salt-pans of Bolivia, the mountain range in Patagonia of Argentina or the deep gold sand dunes of Namibia Hai returns with photographic moments that allows others to immerse themselves in natures sacred places

Besides his overwhelming passion for photography Hai works as a Hairstylist and a Salon owner at Haircats Studio in Vancouver –  www.haircats.ca
